Explore the telescoping layers of connection between the cosmic, earthly-animal, and human-made worlds with Planetudes. Good for dreaming, imagining, letting go, reframing, recharging, invigorating…the album paints and inspiring picture of your planet.

The Planetudes sound is crafted from a fusion of analog electronica, including a rare 1969 R. A. Minimoog, experimental rock, and soaring orchestration, interwoven with an abundance of samples recorded directly from nature, offering relief from the chaos in our lives. An experiential epic featuring a "Wrecking Crew" of Portland's finest instrumentalists, Planetudes also ventures into forests and oceans to include the beautiful and uncanny solos of Weddell seals, thrushes, owls, crickets, wolves, and humpback whales.

MADE INDEPENDENTLY IN PORTLAND, OR
With uncompromising quality and attention to detail, Planetudes is carving a new niche, greenwave music, and doing it independently.

About the Art
Behind the art of Planetudes is painter and graphic designer Liz Gill Neilson. The art for this album, both the cover and the individual track artwork (depicted in miniature on the back of the jacket), all started with an emblem we call "the planet graphic", featured on the poster insert included with this LP. Liz created a kind of symbolic key in which every track on the album is represented as one of sixteen sections, the first eight of which comprise this album. She then made artwork for the individual tracks based on the planet graphic as a key.
